Its spyware detection is ok, but with the best heuristics in the business, that bumps up its decent antispyware. Its firewall itself isnt the best, but it stealths ports which will protect you from 90% of hackers. If you have an older computer this is the best (and lightest) suite around. If you have a newer computer look elsewhere. Resolved the issue of preventing Vista Ultimate from performing a normal shutdown as was the case with Zone Alarm Suite and Norton 360. My system boots faster and does not experience a drain on resources - just works quietly in the background. Updates its virus signatures every hour. The interface is not fancy like the others and requires a little more user interaction to set all parameters to suit your personal needs. However, I think the lack of such automated settings may contribute to ESET's low drain on computer resources. There's always room for improvement in any product of this type. I just hope the improvements that emerge "act" as improvements, and don't spoil a great product. |
